     02   About

Dionysios Proios Rallatos was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the 9th of May 1965 to Greek parents.

Showing his artistic skills from a very early age, he excelled in primary school and he was merited for his artistic work, which continued through to secondary school experimenting in photography, theatrical stage design and writing lyrics for children’s songs. He becomes an editor of the first free press school magazine and participates in numerous artistic events in Argentina, over the late 80’s.

During the dark years of the military regime in Argentina, his free spirit and lack of conformity, resulted in him being expelled from a total of seven universities. Undeterred ,he flees to the United States, where he seeks and finds employment as stage manager assistant.

In 1982 he returns to Argentina and creates a center for art, unique for it’s liberal spirit, that allowed artists to think and create out of the box imposed to them by the “junta“, during those oppressed and unimaginative years. Persecuted for his political beliefs, he flees once more, this time to Europe, where his discovers his true love of painting.

Years later, he returns to South America and settles in Brazil, where under the supervision of his mentor George Aparisios he masters the fine skills of painting. After the passing of George Aparisios, he takes his new found inspiration and returns home to Buenos Aires.
